Sophie is an occupational therapist who is passionate about using a neurodiversity-affirming approach to help children and their families thrive.
With a Master of Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Medical Science, Sophie has a wealth of experience working in diverse settings, including paediatric hospitals, various mental health services, and private practice in rural areas.
Sophie is committed to early intervention and enjoys helping children build confidence and independence by developing their fine and gross motor skills and supporting their sensory processing and interoception. She was drawn to occupational therapy because of its holistic, strengths-based, and individualised approach. For Sophie, the most rewarding part of her job is celebrating a child’s wins as they build confidence and independence.
In the clinic, Sophie loves finding creative ways to make therapy fun and engaging for every child. You can often find her using playdough to support fine motor development or playing the Bed Bugs board game to work on hand-eye coordination.
