Poppy is an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about supporting children and families through a strengths–based, neurodiversity–affirming approach. She is committed to creating a positive and supportive environment where children can build skills, confidence and independence in ways that are meaningful to them.
Poppy holds a Bachelor of Science (Health) from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Australian Catholic University. She worked as an Allied Health Assistant at IWP for three years before commencing her role as an Occupational Therapist. During her studies, she completed multiple paediatric placements across community and hospital settings, building strong foundations in child and family–centred practice.
She has a particular interest in supporting children with fine and gross motor development, social skills, emotional regulation and activities of daily living. She values working collaboratively with families to support goals that positively influence everyday participation at home, school and in the community.
Poppy chose occupational therapy because of her passion for working with children and supporting them as they learn and develop new skills. She finds it rewarding to work alongside children and families to build confidence, independence and enjoyment in daily life. She enjoys creating a welcoming and encouraging space where children and families feel comfortable to grow and work towards goals that are important to them.
In the clinic, Poppy incorporates play into sessions to support engagement and skill development. Pop–Up Pirate is one of her favourite games, encouraging turn–taking, fine motor skills and shared enjoyment within therapy. Poppy is dedicated to providing thoughtful, strengths–based support that recognises each child’s individual abilities and potential.
