How our team can help your child
Our Telekids service can support your child no matter where they’re at. Our team has experience supporting children with a wide range of abilities and disabilities. This could include:
- neurodivergence and neurodiversity including ADHD, ADD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and OCD
- cerebral palsy
- intellectual disabilities
- fine and motor skill difficulties
- handwriting
- social emotional difficulties
- trauma, and
- behavioural differences.
Our speech pathologists focus on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and intervention of speech, language, communication, voice and fluency disorders. We also work with you and your child to address challenges relating to speech sounds, reading, writing, eating, play, self-advocacy, and social participation and inclusion.
Occupational therapy
We work alongside families to help children build everyday skills that support participation at home, school and in the community. Therapy supports may focus on motor skills, self care, social connection, play or emotional regulation. Each activity is tailored to your child’s goals, strengths and environment.
Getting started with Telekids
Now accepting enrolments throughout rural and regional Australia!
Initial assessment
- Our therapists will conduct an initial consult either over telehealth or where possible in person
- If requiring ongoing support, we can provide support and advice to then match them with an appropriate therapist for sessions
Ongoing services via telehealth
- Ongoing intervention is flexible, and delivered via telehealth
- Our therapists will with with you to identify the best time and place for intervention to occur, whether that is through parent coaching or sessions facilitated during the day while your child is at school.
Improving access to care
Accessing care isn’t always easy. You can wait 6 months to 2 years to get your child into a therapist, according to a 2022 report by National Disability Services. Families in regional and remote areas wait the longest.
We want children everywhere to benefit from accessible, high-quality therapy. Our Telekids program helps overcome these obstacles, offering timely professional support for your child.

What you need for telehealth sessions:
- A laptop, desktop, or tablet (your child’s school may provide this)
- A camera, microphone, and speakers (most modern laptops have these built-in)
- A headset or headphones (recommended for school sessions)
- A stable internet connection
- A quiet, comfortable location for the session

Indirect Supports
Indirect supports are important and in line with evidence based practice in both Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology. Where possible, the below tasks can be scheduled to be completed within your direct service provision time, but when completed outside of this, indirect supports are charged at the hourly rate of $193.99 for all clients, in increments of 15 minutes.
Why choose Telekids?
Telehealth provides an effective alternative to in-person therapy, offering similar outcomes and greater accessibility. Our goal is to ensure all families have access to the services they need, regardless of their location. The flexibility of telehealth broadens availability to services that would often take months or even years to receive. Telekids is here to bridge that gap and provide timely, high-quality care for your child.
